Fair Trade

It is the Centre’s policy to use FairTrade goods wherever possible and to promote Fair Trade. The bar stocks only FairTrade wines. We serve FairTrade biscuits during afternoon tea at least once during a course.

The shop is stocked with FairTrade goods from Traidcraft and our tea and coffee is provided by The Fairground in Staveley. We serve fairly traded fruit and the kitchen uses Fair Trade products where possible in food preparation.

Free Range meat & poultry

We have a policy of serving only free range meat, poultry and poultry products (ie eggs!). Our meat is obtained from a local company with a reputation for superb, tasty meat.

Buy local!

We believe in investing in the local economy, so our policy is to buy goods locally wherever possible. We use local suppliers for building materials, furnishings, computers and equipment and all the produce that our chefs need.
